I've seen these before. We need to start getting stuff like that here in the states. The ones I saw where from Australia, must be one hell of a place.

Dist. Conventions and Circuit Assemblies ~ Questions...
by Riverwatcher ini've got some questions about district conventions and circuit assemblies.
are j/w's required to attend them?
what if they can't afford to go?

These events are big social occasions as well. The "young ones" especially get excited about new outfits and such, mostly because many of them are trying to "hook up". I don't think the conventions fit much into the brainwashing catagory as they do simply into the "oh my goodness" catagory. The convention sites are just overflowing with large amounts of cheese all weekend long.

Seriously, they`re burning down our embassys now.
by Hellrider inthe cartoon-rage continues.
in syria, protesters have now burned the norwegian and danish embassys to the ground.
the latest news is that they are rioting in copenhagen, denmark, where 200 moslems have stormed the sentral station (the railwaystation), and throwing bricks and rocks.

They upset me and depressed me :~(
by Spectrum ini tried to show the nature of jehovah to my mother and neice by using the story of the levite and the concubine and the awful carnage of the innocents jehovah santioned as a result of one rape and murder (judges 19-21).
they were both supporting jehovah's sanctioning of the murder of thousands of men, women and children.
at one point they said that i was getting too precious about the murdered children, that they would inevitably become like their parents, 99% of whom were innocent in this story anyway, and that what good would it do to leave them alive if the bread provider was dead in battle, better to finish them off too.

I think that when speaking to those still in the organization, questioning the bible is something that most active JW's will not take well. Better off with questions and criticism about the organization, not the Bible itself. Just my opinion.

Future milestones in JW belief
by ballistic incan you think of any future "milestones" which will force the jws to change doctrine (again).
1. when it can be proved that every human who has ever lived could not fit on (an even transformed) earth.
2. in 2914, christ would have ruled for a thousand years.

Are you guys kidding? They have got to allready have a fallout for when the GB turnes all over to the "other sheep". Something like this...
True Christians today are well aware that those of the other sheep must continue to do the work anointed christians have started. It is as though Jehovah has "handed over the torch" giving higher honor to those underseving of it. How greatful we are that Jehovah has counted us worthy to be allowed to help continue this ever important preaching work! -

Nobody was really excited about my decision, but since many of the ideas they had about the Witnesses where misconceptions I was left alone.
It's sad because the only way to really know the "truth" is to join and find out with expierance. Yuk! -

Good Morning Apostates!!
by Andy C inah, another fine day in apostaland.
question of the day: what makes you think you are right?
maybe you are headed down that broad and spacious road, something to think about.

I'm with everybody else, right about what?
I'm guessing you mean right in the sense that many on the board feel that the Watchtower does not have the truth? That's what it sounds like to me. I think that many here will agree that life is about more than being right and wrong on the issues. I find myself allways being more impressed by individuals who prove themselves not to be dogmatic in their thinking process as compared to those that do.
I'm also guessing that you are asking us if we have really thought about what will happen in the future because we have left this belief system in one way or another. All I can say is that you should try reading some more of the posts on this board. The decision to let go of what can sometimes be deep rooted beliefs does not come easily without much thought. -

2006 Predictions for the WTS
by Nosferatu in.
not sure if this has been done yet, and i know i'm a little late with it, but with the big news, the potential for new light coming soon, and the dropping increase in worldwide jw membership, what do you think is going to happen this year with the wts?

More focus on the only people left that will listen to their message, foreign launage groups and the third world.
I don't see much happening this year other than more of the same. There is a bigger trend, but it's going to take time to become more visible. Remember folks, the end of this month is half way through this service year! Not much longer untill we can see the growing new trend for JWs:

Part A: The Missing 200-Years
by Amazing1914 inpart a: the missing 200 years
the watchtower society has written a lot since its inception in 1878.
it has zeroed in on religious history and doctrine to make its case that such religion is false and thus concluded that the watchtower society must be true.
